Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the leading urban developers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the signing of an agreement with the BANZ Group, the leading warehouse operator and logistics provider of choice in Bahrain, that entails the appointment of the latter for Warehouse Management and Logistics Services for Dragon City.

The agreement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr. Maher Al Shaer, and the Chief Executive Officer of the BANZ Group, Mr. Jason B. Smith, in the presence of officials from both companies. Under the contractual obligations that the agreement necessitates, BANZ will comprehensively manage the 5,000 square meter area designated for warehouses in Dragon Mall, the state of the art Chinese themed shopping centre in Dragon City that will encompass 747 retail and wholesale units as well as provide logistics services.

Elaborating on the significance of the partnership, Chief Executive Officer of Diyar Al Muharraq, Dr. Maher Al Shaer, said: “This is an immensely significant occasion as our partnership with the BANZ Group will effectively provide a comprehensive solution to all our warehousing and logistics needs. As Dragon City is one of our prominent landmark projects, with warehouses being spread over an extensive 5,000 sqm area, it was imperative that we outsource our management needs of the same to an experienced and well connected establishment that thrives on the highest quality of work standards and immaculate work ethics and in the BANZ Group, we found all this and more. We look forward to hosting these professionals in our premises and ensuring that their every requirement is looked after as ultimately, it results in a considerable increase in our ability to assure the utmost satisfaction to our retail clientele that will soon set up shop in Dragon City.”

The all-encompassing warehousing services that BANZ will provide include de-stuffing of containers, quality control, storage in climate controlled areas, order picking, value added services  such as repacking, labeling and kitting, retail distribution and other services such as LCL Container Freight Station.

The logistics operation includes all facets of operations associated with inventory management such as receiving, distribution, warehousing, inventory control, delivery and transportation. The BANZ group will act as an agent for importers and exporters and offers amongst its services the preparation of customs documentation, liaising with Bahrain Customs, Ministry of Health, Port and Airport authorities, shipping and carrier agents and other relevant government institutions as well as notifying the consignors and consignees of anything and everything that pertains to their operations and products.

Set in the southwest corner of Diyar Al Muharraq on a 115,000 square meter area with a gross floor area of circa 56,000 sq. metres, Dragon City is the first-of its kind development in Bahrain which will offer unique wholesale and retail opportunities to local consumers, trade customers and tourists. Phase 1 of Dragon City encompasses Dragon Mall, the design of which is infused with Chinese architectural and cultural aspects, in a layout which incorporates 747 individual retail store spaces and additionally, a 5,000 square meter area designated for warehouses. So far, Dragon City has almost obtained full lease interest and the occupancy rate has reached more than 95% with its grand opening expected to be before the end of this year.
